ABOUT THE FARM

The Ama Project Idido is a premium selection of coffee beans from the agricultural cooperative “Idido, Yirgacheffe,” located in the fertile lands of Ethiopia. Established in 2023 with the aim of supporting local women farmers and promoting female empowerment, this coffee embodies a mission of sustainability and gender equality.

The beans are carefully cultivated by dedicated female farmers and handpicked by Amarech Ararso, a key figure within the group, whose commitment to empowering women in agricultural production is pivotal. Her farm, situated in Hada at an altitude of 2050 meters, provides an optimal environment for the growth of high-quality coffee beans.

After meticulous harvesting, the beans undergo an artisanal processing method that includes anaerobic fermentation and controlled drying, preserving their distinctive aromas and unique characteristics. Once ready, the coffee is carefully stored and transported to the processing facility in Addis Ababa before being exported to international markets. The result is a super fruity and complex lot that delivers a very pleasant and clean cup with a hint of sweet spices.

In addition to producing high-quality coffee, the cooperative engages in social and economic initiatives, providing training, financial assistance, and logistical support to local women farmers. With a focus on gender equity and sustainability, the Ama Project Idido, Yirgacheffe Coffee not only delights the palates of coffee enthusiasts but also contributes to the well-being of Ethiopian farming communities.

Purchasing this coffee not only offers a sensory delight but also represents a tangible opportunity to support female empowerment and sustainable development in rural Ethiopia.

We roast all coffees, based on orders, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and we ship the next day!
