This lot comes from the Nyabirongo region of the Rwenzori Mountains in western Uganda, cultivated by roughly 230 smallholder farmers on rich, volcanic soils at elevations between 1500–1800 meters above sea level. The farms grow classic Arabica varieties SL14 and SL28, benefitting from a distinct equatorial climate with bi-annual rainy seasons followed by extended sunshine that supports balanced and steady cherry development. This mountainous backdrop — part of the famed “Mountains of the Moon” region — gives the coffee its structural backbone and terroir expression.

The lot is processed under the guidance of Agri Evolve, an export partner deeply engaged in quality improvement in the Rwenzori specialty coffee scene. Unlike many washed coffees, Kasese Gold Rwenzori is delivered as dry parchment: after farm collection, the dry parchment lot is subject to careful grading, cleaning and sorting at Nyabirongo before packing for export. This approach emphasises meticulous quality control early in the chain, ensuring consistency and integrity .

In the cup, you can expect a clean, refined profile that reflects both the altitude and the careful handling at origin. While specific flavour notes can vary by roast level and brewing method, washed Rwenzori coffees from this context are generally known for balanced body, clarity, and fruity, floral highlights with pleasant acidity — exhibiting nuanced character without heaviness.
